About the Rolex Day-Date
The Day-Date was presented in 1956 and was the first watch to show both the date and the day of the week spelled out in full. It has been offered only in precious metals, 18 carat gold or platinum. The model was given its own three-link bracelet, known as the President bracelet, a name that also became attached to the watch. It is now offered in 36mm and 40mm sizes, with self-winding chronometer movements.
