About the Patek Philippe Calatrava
Patek Philippe introduced the Calatrava in 1932 with the Ref. 96. The brand describes the first model as inspired by the Bauhaus principle that function determines the form of an object, and it presents the Calatrava as the quintessential round wristwatch with pure lines, synonymous with simplicity. Some models add the hobnail, or Clous de Paris, pattern to the bezel or caseband. The current collection covers both manual-winding and self-winding models. The 38mm Ref. 6196P and 39mm Ref. 6119 use the manual-winding calibre 30-255 PS with a 65-hour power reserve, while the 40mm Ref. 5226G uses the self-winding calibre 26-330 S C with a date and sweep seconds.
