Portugieser Chronograph Reference IW3716-06
Portugieser Chronograph Stainless Steel / Blue
From the front this Portugieser Chronograph looks almost the same as the 1998 original, but IWC has put its own movement inside. The in-house calibre 69355 took the place of a movement derived from the Valjoux 7750, and it adds a column wheel.
The watch first appeared as a limited anniversary edition in 2018 and joined the regular collection in 2020. The case is a fraction thicker than before, the pushers are slimmer at the top, and the numerals are now applied rather than embossed. On the gold watches those applied numerals are solid gold, and the back is now sapphire where it used to be solid.
It replaced the 3714, a reference IWC had kept in the collection for 22 years.
