About the Grand Seiko Evolution 9
Grand Seiko introduced the Evolution 9 Style in 2020 alongside the 9SA5 mechanical calibre, and a collection of the same name grew from it. The style builds on the brand's established design language with three aims: richer aesthetics, better legibility through more three dimensional hands and indexes, and improved comfort through a lower centre of gravity and wider lugs. The SLGH005 was among the first models in the collection and was named best men's watch at the 2021 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève. The collection uses 9S mechanical and 9R Spring Drive movements, and the 2022 sports models ranged from 41 mm to 45.3 mm in high intensity titanium.
