About the Chopard L.U.C
The L.U.C line grew out of Chopard's first in-house automatic movement, completed in 1996 by a team that Karl-Friedrich Scheufele set up in Fleurier. The name uses the initials of Louis-Ulysse Chopard, who founded the company in 1860. That first calibre set the technical tone for the line: a micro-rotor, two barrels and both COSC chronometer certification and the Poinçon de Genève. Chopard states that every stage of L.U.C production takes place in its Geneva and Fleurier workshops. The current men's range runs from 36.5mm to 45mm in Lucent Steel, titanium, gold and platinum, with automatic and hand-wound movements across time-only, Qualité Fleurier, chiming, perpetual calendar and tourbillon models.
