Tank Louis Cartier Large Manual Rose Gold / Silver
Cartier introduced this hand-wound gold Tank Louis Cartier in 2017, a hundred years after the first Tank, and it is the larger size. The case design dates from 1922. In the generation before 2017, only the extra-large size had a mechanical movement and the others ran on quartz.
At launch it used the calibre 8971 MC, an oval movement based on a Jaeger-LeCoultre calibre. Later watches have the 1917 MC, a small in-house movement Cartier originally developed for ladies watches. The small model is 29.5mm long, against 33.7mm for this one.
It slides under a shirt cuff easily, and it looks more natural with a suit than with casual clothes.
