About the Breitling Navitimer
Breitling developed the Navitimer in 1952 for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). Its defining feature is a circular logarithmic slide rule on the rotating bezel, which lets pilots work out speed, distance, fuel consumption and other flight calculations. The name combines navigation and timer. In 1962 astronaut Scott Carpenter wore a Navitimer during his spaceflight. The current collection spans cases from 32mm to 46mm. Movements include Breitling's Manufacture Calibre 01 in the B01 chronographs, the manual-winding B09, the B19 perpetual calendar chronograph, and automatic time-only and GMT models.
