Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43 Stainless Steel / Black / Bracelet

Breitling makes the Navitimer B01 Chronograph in three sizes, and this 43mm is the middle one. The range came out in 2022, the year the Navitimer turned 70. All three run on the in-house calibre B01 with about 70 hours of reserve, so you pick on fit and dial colour, and the copper dial was made only in this 43mm size.

Next to the Navitimer it replaced, the changes are small. The winged AOPA logo is back at the top of the dial, the slide rule scale is thinner and the crystal is domed. Through the display back, a slimmer rotor leaves more of the movement in view.

The 41mm matches the diameter of the 1950s original, though it is thicker because the movement is automatic. The 43mm is the one to look at if you want the dial and slide rule larger without moving up to the 46mm.

About the Breitling Navitimer

Breitling developed the Navitimer in 1952 for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). Its defining feature is a circular logarithmic slide rule on the rotating bezel, which lets pilots work out speed, distance, fuel consumption and other flight calculations. The name combines navigation and timer. In 1962 astronaut Scott Carpenter wore a Navitimer during his spaceflight. The current collection spans cases from 32mm to 46mm. Movements include Breitling's Manufacture Calibre 01 in the B01 chronographs, the manual-winding B09, the B19 perpetual calendar chronograph, and automatic time-only and GMT models.
