About Swatch
The name is a contraction of second watch, and the original plastic quartz watch, built from 51 parts, was developed as a response to the quartz crisis.
Swatch also makes the Sistem51, an automatic movement with 51 components assembled entirely by machine, and since 2022 has sold the MoonSwatch, a bioceramic collaboration with Omega based on the Speedmaster Moonwatch.
