About A. Lange & Söhne
The company ceased to exist in 1948, after its main building was destroyed at the end of the Second World War and the business was nationalised.
In 1990 Walter Lange, the founder's great-grandson, re-established the brand in Glashütte with Günter Blümlein. Its first wristwatches followed in 1994, and the outsize date became a signature of many models. The company has been part of the Richemont Group since 2000.
